Ideal for individual and group teaching, Stringsongs develops reading skills begun in Sheila Nelson's Tetratunes by the use of singing and part-playing. Many pieces have an optional extra violin part so they can be played as duets; if not, they can still be played with someone else as a round or canon. The main aims are developing musicianship, the use of basic bowing skills for interpretation, accurate pitching based on singing and well-understood scales, and the ability to listen to a contrasting part.
